Auto-Deploy Recommendations

Auto-Deploy asks the protected PHP recommendation service to generate deterrent placements from the site constraints you marked in the browser.

Before using Auto-Deploy

Auto-Deploy requires at least one of these inputs:

  • A marked collision surface on a building edge.
  • A greenspace with Deter from this space enabled.

If neither input exists, Deployment Studio switches to Collision Surface mode and asks you to mark a target first.

Recommendation preferences

When you click Auto-Deploy, choose one of these preferences:

  • Sparrow: prefer smaller, quieter, more energy-efficient units.
  • Merlin: prefer louder units for larger spaces or stronger deterrence potential.
  • Automatic Mix: let the recommendation service choose the best mix for the site.

What gets sent to the recommendation service

The browser sends site constraints to the PHP API boundary. Inputs include:

  • Marked collision surface count and geometry.
  • Preference: Sparrow, Merlin, or automatic mix.
  • Units and scale.
  • Grid dimensions.
  • Building geometry.
  • Greenspaces and whether each is marked to deter from.
  • Indicators and maximum-noise settings.

The public JavaScript does not contain proprietary recommendation strategy details.

What Auto-Deploy changes

Before applying a new recommendation, Auto-Deploy clears existing deterrents and sound references. It keeps:

  • Buildings.
  • Greenspaces.
  • Collision-surface markings.
  • Indicators and noise limits.
  • Scale, crop, units, opacity, and other workspace settings.

After Auto-Deploy finishes:

  • Review each deterrent position on the map.
  • Check the SPL heatmap coverage.
  • Inspect indicator values and any maximum-noise warnings.
  • Edit recommended deterrents if the plan needs manual adjustment.
  • Use Share Configuration to send the recommendation to reviewers.

Common Auto-Deploy messages

If you see a message that no recommendations could be generated, confirm that at least one collision surface is marked or one greenspace has Deter from this space enabled.

If the recommendation request fails, confirm that the PHP API is deployed and reachable at api/recommendations.php under the same base path as the app.
