Map Setup
The Map Setup menu controls the workspace background, visual opacity, measurement units, scale calibration, and cropping.

Upload Map Screenshot
Use Upload Map Screenshot to add a site image as the workspace background. Typical sources include Google Maps screenshots, site plans, roof plans, or annotated aerial images.
Clear Map
Use Clear Map to remove the uploaded image and return to the blank grid. Clearing the map does not automatically remove traced buildings, greenspaces, deterrents, references, or indicators.
Map Opacity
Use Map Opacity to make the uploaded image more or less prominent. Lower opacity can make traced polygons, deterrents, indicators, and heatmap colors easier to see.
Heatmap Opacity
Use Heatmap Opacity to control how strongly the SPL heatmap overlays the map. Increase opacity when sound coverage is the focus. Decrease opacity when you need to see map details underneath.
Units
Choose Feet or Meters. This controls the scale readout and how grid distances are converted to real-world distance for SPL and recommendation calculations.
Calibrate Scale
Calibration sets the real-world distance represented by the grid.

Recommended process:
- Choose Calibrate Scale.
- Click the first point of a known distance on the map.
- Click the second point.
- Enter the real-world distance.
- Choose the units for that known distance.
- Click Apply Scale.
Tips:
- Use the longest reliable known distance available for better accuracy.
- Recalibrate after changing to a different map image.
- If the uploaded image is cropped or resized outside the tool before upload, calibrate the final uploaded image.
Crop
Use Start Crop to drag a rectangle around the map area you want to keep. Cropping helps focus the workspace and remove unused map margins.
Use Undo Crop to restore the previously uploaded map image and view.

Full Screen
Use Full Screen in the toolbar to expand the planning workspace. Full screen is useful while tracing geometry or presenting a plan.
Status and scale readout
The status bar below the canvas reports the current mode and next action. The scale readout shows the workspace dimensions in the selected units.
