Overview
Deployment Studio is a browser-based planning tool for animal deterrent deployments. It helps you upload or use a site map, calibrate distance, trace site geometry, mark priority surfaces and greenspaces, place deterrents, check sound levels, and share the resulting configuration with collaborators.

What you can build
- A calibrated site plan using feet or meters.
- Building polygons that act as attenuation barriers in the displayed SPL model.
- Greenspace polygons that can be labeled and optionally marked as spaces to deter from.
- Marked bird-collision surfaces on building edges.
- Deterrent placements using Sparrow, Merlin, or custom speaker settings.
- Sound indicators with optional maximum-noise constraints.
- Everyday sound references for comparing SPL values.
- A shareable configuration link that preserves the deployment setup.
How the help manual is organized
- Quick Start walks through a typical first deployment plan.
- Map Setup explains uploads, opacity, units, calibration, crop, and full screen.
- Site Geometry Tools covers buildings, greenspaces, and collision surfaces.
- Deterrent Tools covers Sparrow, Merlin, custom units, power, volume, and attractant mode.
- Indicators and References covers sound markers and everyday SPL references.
- Auto-Deploy Recommendations explains the recommendation workflow and inputs.
- Editing and Managing Objects covers selection, popup editing, object lists, dragging, and deletion.
- Heatmap and SPL Model explains what the heatmap means and what it does not simulate.
- Sharing Configurations explains share links and their limitations.
- Troubleshooting lists common issues and fixes.
Important modeling note
Deployment Studio is a planning aid, not an acoustic engineering certification tool. The browser heatmap is a simplified SPL display that uses deterrent power, sensitivity, volume, distance, and building attenuation barriers. It does not simulate reflections, diffraction, ground effects, wind, humidity, frequency response, phase interference, or speaker directionality.
Recommended planning flow
- Start with Map Setup to upload and calibrate the workspace.
- Trace buildings and greenspaces with Site Geometry Tools.
- Mark collision surfaces or set greenspaces to deter from.
- Place deterrents manually with Deterrent Tools or use Auto-Deploy Recommendations.
- Add indicators and references to evaluate sound levels.
- Use Sharing Configurations when the plan is ready for review.
